I wish they would change them so you can't use them in HM, as they remove the whole point of it.

Power stone + Pug = Pug saver. During dungeons crawling and things get messy a Power stone will silence some of those annoying players.

I generally just power through pve in normal mode, so I've completely ignored consumables so far. I just don't like the idea of using a non-skill to get a skill-like effect, even in pve. (Way back in the day when I bought prophecies I was glad to see there were no potions in GW).

I love the consumables. They are invaluble for an good (but not great) player looking to H/H Vanquish some of the harder zones. Have only really used Powerstone and Armor though.
The perfect salvage is also great for removing runes and insignias from armor w/o losing one of them.
Wish they didn't cost so much though, but thats just me being QQ.

Comment: Perfect salvage kits are grand. I've moved a fair handful of mods off weapons I was too scared to touch before.
Comment: Generally I've found no need for the DP-removers/moral-boosters/stat-boosters. If I'm H+Hing and I run into the kind of trouble that calls for one, it's probably time to map back and retool my builds. If I'm PUG-ing and run into the kind of trouble that calls for one, it's probably time to let the PUG die and join a different group. Though, if someone else wants to spend the gold to prop the group up, I'll stick it out and try to finish the zone. (On one occasion, someone did just that, and it did, just like Ensign said, allow the PUG to beat content that they otherwise couldn't.)
Query: Can rez scrolls be stacked? Although not quite as much as skill slots, my inventory slots are in short supply.

"...But I want to know what you guys think, what's your opinion of consumables..."
Great for me I was able to complete the whole game....with henchies & heroes. One exception !!!!! the Asura quest in the temple with the clockwork machinery.....where you have to fight on two sides the destroyers. I did a PUG & it worked at first attempt.
Same for Dungeons, it helps a lot & your team rocks not saying it is easy.....but if you manage it well & dont aggro that much.....it rocks.
consumables = DOPE LOL

Which quest was this ?
I'm pretty sure I've done everything in GW:EN except for Rragar's and Slavers dungeons, and I don't remember having to split vs destroyers.
As for the consumables, I like them, though I doubt I'll ever actually craft them.

Eh... I use an essence of celerity every once in a while when I'm feeling a bit silly, it just makes things go nutty. The game is certainly doable without them, but they're kind of fun when you're doing something tedious... I wouldn't go out of my way to craft any though.

Do you want to smashface even harder in PvE? y/n. If yes, get consumables. If no, don't. It's quite an easy decision if you ask me.

I guess consumables are fun, but did the game really need to be made easier?

Sadly, it didn't. Consumables make hard mode normal mode and normal mode beginner mode.

Just because wiping out isn't game/quest ending, doesn't mean your group didn't wipe. look at it from that perspective. Is it easier with consumables?Certainly, without question, yet, I still rather not use them if I can get away with it.

So far I really like them, the perfect salvage kits are something that was needed, especially if changing expensive runes on 15k armor.
Other than that, as long as the game isn't balanced around using them they are nice. I have only used one (and that one I got from a quest) that removes the party's DP at the end of a dungeon. Didn't really need it, but I had it and nothing better to do with it.
For those of us with lots of gold and hundreds of skill points nothing better to do with them.

You have a point but there is a use for Consumables that I've rarely seen mentioned. They have (for my alliance at least) opened up the Elite Areas in a huge way to people who do not play "standard" builds that usually dominate those areas. Failure because you didn't run THE build for an Elite Area is far less of a concern with these items now. They allow an experimental margian of error that was lacking in these areas before.
For that I am very thankful for these new items. It's opened up areas for me personally and a lot of other people who just can't stomach the Tank/Nuke/Monk mentality that otherwise a lot of us would never even see.
Edit (Clarification): Are they required to complete these areas? No, that's not the point I'm trying to make - I'm simply stating that having the safety net of these items makes it a lot easier for often ignored professions to nudge their way into a group than it was before.

I just use the consumables when vanquishing HM areas (some of them can be a real bitch sometimes) its nice have your attributes, speed and recharge time brought up so that u have at least half the attack speed of the monsters =O

I said it before, and I'll say it again - Perfect Salvage Kit FTW!
Seriously, that is the best consumable. It's the only one really worth it. Powerstone is okay, basically a big eraser for big ****ups. Everything else is just meh. I can do without them, and they don't help enough to make me want to waste space, money, skill points, and materials on.

I like them. Some good easy to attain tools for those really bad F up situations, that you have been down in for hours. Like UW or Urgos in HM that kind of thing... Maybe a dungeon or two if the party is just really really bad... Small sacrifice to help the team finish. Though why we got there is another story.. Sheesh...
I look at it as a good gold sink and something to make use of skill points for on characters that have everything they want already unlocked... Heck we can even transfer the extras now. thats nice too. I moved 20 extra skill points over to a new character the other day. Was very nice to grab so many cheap skills really quick for a class I never really touched, IE Paragon..
Anytime gold is pulled out of the game its a good thing... Makes every single gold piece all the more valuable in my opinion...
